Synopsis/Blurb: A killer is on the loose, blurring the line between fact and fiction. His prey – the writers of crime novels who have turned psychological profilers into the heroes of the nineties. But this killer is like no other. His bloodlust shatters all the conventional wisdom surrounding the motives and mechanics of how serial killers operate. And for one woman, the desperate hunt to uncover his identity becomes a matter of life and death. Professor Fiona Cameron is an academic psychologist who uses computer technology to help police forces track serial offenders. She used to help the Met, but vowed never to work for them again after they went against her advice and badly screwed up an investigation as a consequence. Still smarting from the experience, she’s working a case in Toledo when her lover, thriller writer Kit Martin, tells her a fellow crime novelist has been murdered. It’s not her case, but Fiona can’t help taking an interest. Which is just as well, because before too long the killer strikes again. And again. And Fiona is caught up in a race against time, not only to save a life, but to bring herself redemption, both personal and professional.
Fiona and Kit are a couple who are very much in love and straight away you know they stick together through thick and thin and will do anything to keep each other together. Fiona is a professor who is a psychologist who uses computer technology to track serial offenders and Kit writes award winning crime novels. Fiona chose her line of work when her sister was murdered and it made her want to help others going through the same thing but finding the killer. When crime novels just like Kit start to get murdered Fiona can't help but be interested and scared at the same time. The Murder recreates parts of the crime writers novel to kill them off. What ties them all together is each write has already received a letter which are death threats.
Within this book there is 3 investigations going on, Murders in spain, Susan Blanchard's murder which is being solved by Steve and his lover Terry and the one where the crime writers are being killed. This book kept me hooked and I literally couldn't put it down and read any time I wasn't cooking, cleaning or working so managed to read in 3 days.
Brilliant ending doesn't end too quick wasn't rushed and I will definitely be re-reading very soon.
See you soon.
