Kindle Books.

Hey guys,
I recently had a kindle as a present and recently started reading e books.
I will admit when kindles first came out i didnt want one as i prefer real books to holding a plastic tablet to read a book but i am slowly changing my opinion. I still prefer real paperback books but on amazon you can get some really good books for free and some times you can get a publisher to send books to review straight to your kindle.

I like how if i am at a friends and they say to read a certain book i can purchase the money online and when i get home it will be on my kindle ready and waiting.

I am going on two small holidays this year and although they are both in england and i wont be going on a plane i think a kindle is the way forward as you save space carrying one kindle instead of three or four books and also i have the kindle fire so can also plays games and watch films  whilst on holiday which i think is a really good idea.

I have recently tried an audio book and will be reviewing what i thought of that soon and also will be doing a audio vs ebook post very soon.

See you soon.

Paperback Vs Hardback

Hey guys,
Today I thought I would something a bit different.
One question that's asked on a lot of tags online which do you prefer paperback or hardback. Now my answer is simple I prefer paperbacks. Don't get me wrong if someone buys me a hardback I won't throw it out or then buy the same book in hardback but if I go into a book store I tend to go for paperbacks.

Pros and cons of hardback:
Cons
Hardback books as it states hardback which can make these heavy and very big. They have covers on them to save the hardcover but in my case end up getting ripped so I then have to take them off and then the book looks boring and plain. Some hardback books I find are more expensive and are hardly ever in a sale. Hardback books don't tend to fit through a letter box so I have to then collect from the post office when I can get to one.
Pros
Hardback books tend to feel a quicker read as there are less pages as the font it usually quite big. Hardback books come out first so you get to get a book earlier than waiting for the paperback. They are steady and don't rip as much in accidents and corner of pages don't get bent in my bag as the cover protects the pages.

Pros and cons of paperbacks
Cons
You have to wait longer to get a paperback as they come out 3 months later than the hardback books. Sometimes a paperback with small font seems like a really long book with over 500 pages.
Pros
Paperback books are always in a sale they are smaller and easier to hold and also tend to have beautiful covers. Paperback books can fit through letterboxs unless they are very big books. Paperbacks are usually used as arcs by publishers for a reason. Paperback books are cheaper and lastly paperback are easier to read without ruining the spine. Paperback books are very popular for a reason and in my opinion are better.

What do you think paperback or hardback?
I will be doing a post on e-books vs audio books very soon.
See you soon

The Cuckoo's Calling By Robert Galbraith.

Hey Guys,
Product Details:
Publisher: Sphere 2014.
Paperback. 550 Pages.
Source: Bought By Fiance.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
Synopsis/Blurb: When a troubled model falls to her death from a snow-covered Mayfair balcony, it is assumed that she has committed suicide. However, her brother has his doubts, and calls in private investigator Cormoran Strike to look into the case. Strike is a war veteran - wounded both physically and psychologically - and his life is in disarray. The case gives him a financial lifeline, but it comes at a personal cost: the more he delves into the young model's complex world, the darker things get - and the closer he gets to terrible danger . . .

Let's start off with the truth... This brilliant book was written by J K Rowling! One thing I don't understand is why she used a different name as this book is brilliant.
For Valentine's day my fiancé got me a waterstone's voucher and when I saw this was half price I had to get it. J K Rowling writes perfectly it's not to fast or slow it doesn't miss big pieces off of the story line and I couldn't put this down from page one.
This book starts off with the suicide of a model who jumps from her balcony and just like that I was hooked. Through this book you learn about each character slowly. Strike investigates Lula's death with the help of his temporary assistant Robin. Each character has their own story and all of lula's friends and family become a suspect at one time or another. I really enjoyed this book although I didn't get the urge to take it to work and stuff like I have done with other books in the past but when I got home it would be the first thing I picked up.
I think the ending was brilliant and I will be re reading and purchasing the rest of this series. I am very excited for Silkworm to come out in june, but I will probably wait for it to come out in papaerback. This was written in 2nd person as was from both Robins and Strikes point of view at one time.
Have you read this book and enjoy it?

Karlolgy By Karl Pilkington.

Hey Guys,
Product Details:
Publisher: Dorling Kindersley 2009.
Paperback. 219 Pages.
Source: Borrowed from a friend.
Rating: 2 out of 5.
Synopsis/Blurb: This is a voyage through the strange yet mesmerising mind of cult author Karl Pilkington, now in paperback. By his own admission Karl Pilkington left formal education behind with only an E in History to his name and not much else. Ever since, his thirst for knowledge has nagged. With this in mind, Karl has embarked on a tour of discovery to make up for the lost years of learning, and to find out more stuff. "Karlology" is the result. So what exactly has Karl Pilkington learned so far? This is a man, it should be noted, who thinks owning 1,777 acres of the moon is a good idea, and believes that the human testicles should be relocated to the earlobes. Maybe he's right.
I will start by saying this book will be very very short. I love Karl on tv and in books, I think he is a very funny and honest bloke. As I have loved his other books which I have reviewed on here I thought I would try his earlier stuff and I guessing that as he gets older he gets funnier as I didn't find these as funny as the others I have read.
Where as the idiot abroad books literally had me in tears from laughing this books I laughed just once or twice.
This is not a "story" but Karl gets to visit a few different museums and shares with us what he learns. This is very factual but like I have already said not very funny. This is not a book I will be purchasing myself to have my own copy.  This is written in 1st person obviously from Karls point of view.
See you soon.

Poppet By Mo Hayder.

Hey Guys,
Product Details:
Publisher: Bantam Books 2013.
Paperback. 501 Pages.
Source: Bought Myself.
Rating: 5 out of 5.
Synopsis/Blurb: The patients at Beechway High Secure Unit are terrified. Unexplained power cuts have lead to a series of horrifying incidents. And now fear has spread from the inmates to the staff. DI Jack Caffery is called to investigate, whilst working the most impossible case of his life. Will he be able to stare pure evil in the eye, and survive?
This is the latest in the DI Jack Caffery book series, but I bought this book as my mum calls me poppet and without reading the synopsis which is a bit naughty but I am so glad I purchased it.
The beginning of this books is brilliant straight into the action. Strange things have been happening at beechway a secure unit for psychiatric patients. One of the patients, Issac Handel, is discarged as he is deemed as safe and sane for the real world and the strange things stop happening, so is he really sane? You learn about Jack Caffery's other important case but he doesn't start to investigate at beechway until halfway through the book. I liked how all the caracters were linked together in one way or aother. Aj and Melanie who both work at beechway become a couple and stick together through these hard/strange times. Great read, not one thing wrong with it.
100% loved this book was a book I will be re-reading and very soon. I think I will go and purchase more of this series as I enjoyed this so much.
I'm sorry this is a short post, but I read this book awhile ago and even though I jot down notes I didn't jot down as much as I usually do.
Glad to be back to my reading though

Kindle Fire Hd Review.

Hey guys,
Today i thought i would review my new kindle fire HD.
If i am honest when these first came out i didn't want one as i prefer books, but recently i have been asked by a few publishers to read and review books and most them have been e-books and the fact I am going on two holidays this year I thought it would kill two birds with one stone saves having to take a load of books with me on holiday.
My fiance actually bought it for me as a very early birthday gift and I love it.

Now the kindle he fire has apps on it also and I think that's great. Apps are very up to date and you can gets movies on it also although I haven't tried this yet. Apps so far I have found run smoothly and I have no problems so far.
Books I was pleased to see some good free books on the amazon book store and have purchased a few myself. You can get the latest books with great prices and offers.
Books are great to read on the kindle you can bookmark certain pages put notes on and also it tells you how fast or slow your reading is and how long it will take you to finish the book or chapter.
All in all I give the kindle fire he 5 out of 5. I don't know why I didn't get one sooner as now I can read in bed without the lamp or big light on to annoy my fiance whilst he is trying to sleep. I highly recommend a kindle fire of if you like to play games as well as have a tablet with books on it also.
Sorry this is such a short post but this is my first post written on the kindle.
See you soon
